The market is holding its gains supported by blue
chips. The Sensex goes up 202.55 pts or 0.7 % at 28384.69, and the
Nifty is up 60.90 pts or 0.7 % at 8590.35. Around 1507 shares have
advanced, 700 shares slided down, while 126 share remains unchanged.
Sun Pharma, Bajaj Auto, HUL, HDFC and Cipla are today's top gainers
in the Sensex. Among the losers are Hindalco, Vedanta, TCS, Bharti
Airtel and Infosys. On Wednesday, Oil prices resumed their decrement
in Asia following a US report showing stockpiles surged last week,
with analysts warning for further weakness ahead.
Oil prices have
slided from more than USD 100 a barrel in June last year as strong
production from the US and the Organization of the Petroleum
Exporting Countries led to supplies outpacing demand.
