HDFC went down 0.83 per-cent to Rs 1,289 on BSE after the company agreed to sell 9 per-cent stake in HDFC Standard Life Insurance Company to Standard Life (Mauritius Holdings) 2006 at Rs 95 per share. Nifty went down 0.23 per-cent at 8,499.
On Monday, Shares of Birla Corporation sailed over around 15 per-cent in the noon trade after the company declared it has approved to a transaction with Lafarge India, where by Birla Corp, either directly or through its wholly owned subsidiary, shall obtain both the Jojobera and Sonadih cement businesses (Acquisition Business) from Lafarge India for an enterprise value of Rs 5,000 cr.The BSE Sensex went down 265 pts at 27,802.
